first off, thank god for the internet and my fellow cucv enthusiasts! 1986 m1008 stopped running. had it towed. thought it was a fuel issue. when i pull the pink wire, turn the key to on, and touch the connector i get a spark, but no click. i checked this on my other 2 trucks and it definitely sounds like a solenoid issue. i read the thread on removing the cover inspecting. my real question is do they sell this part after market or is a cleaning good enough? any advice on cleaning or any little tricks i should know about? thanks.

If you are in a hurry, most metropolitan areas have an authorized Stanadyne dealer in town. Good chance they have these on the shelf.
