My experience with So-Cal was full of HORRIFIC job market, burglary, dirty smelly hippies, non English speaking cashiers, a few awesome SS members, but yes, it was rust free.

I will take a decent job and English at ALL my local fuel stations thank you, even if everything I own does turn to rust. :)

One of my favorite things about Pierce county? I swear the county has been sprayed with Hippy repellent. I suppose that may be because of the terrible weather though.
You moved to a chitty section of town and then complain? All cities have rough places, even here in paradise. Job market sucks everywhere, but I could find one if I wanted to. Which I DO NOT want to do. :)

I like this one best!

I have heard of this method before. I just never heard of it used for removing rusted-stuck wheels before. The only tool it requires is a lug wrench.

Back in the 60s a man would pop all four wheels off a car at once by wiggling the car back, and forth. The car would land flat on the ground without any harm.

I was almost tempted to run the truck without lug nuts to see if I could make it pop off by itself.

On old cars, the trick to getting a stuck wheel - or a stuck drum on a tapered axle shaft - is to jack up the OTHER side and then push the rear of the vehicle sideways. The stuck item is the side on the ground and the sideways push pops it free. Never tried it on a 13,000 lb truck, though!

Spray the hub and rim with penetrating oil, also around the studs. Let it sit for a while.

Then take the biggest hammer you have and hit the wheel between the wheel studs. the shock will break the rust free.

If you hit the edge of the rim from the back the shock is not as great at the hub because the rim adsorbs it.

This also works on stuck drums and rotors.

Im with DUG on this....In my opinion though, I think its all relative. You easterners and southerners talk smack about Cali because of what you see on TV etc...same goes for us...Ive never lived back that a ways so I dont have much to say about y'alls state. I was born here and raised here (in a small mountain community) and i still love it. Could do with out the illegals, the politicians, and the rest of the retards messing everything up because its different then what they have or do...but all in all. its not as bad as you think.

Also I do prefer rust free and sunshine...as for the gun nazi's....whatever, I still have mine, and if they want them, they will have to pry em from my cold dead fingers [thumbzup]

I grew up in Orange County Ca. Garden Grove, Placenta, Yorba Linda and Fullerton.

When i was 17 we moved to Santa Cruz County Ca. Scotts Valley and then to Santa Cruz.

The best job i ever had was working graveyard for the city of Santa Cruz on the Municipal Wharf.

After quitting the city job I started my own auto repair service.

That being said after moving to Oregon i would never go back. I still sometimes awake in a cold sweat from dreaming i did.

Don't get me wrong California is beautiful but their regulations for business and for life in general are just out of control.

Sadly Oregon is heading in the same direction.

We call it sunshine tax. I only wish more people hated CA and moved away - the lines would be shorter and the freeways would be less crowded.

:p
The ones with money and skills are. Don't worry, our union driven socialist government killed our industry too. It's all fun and games until the baby boomers retire.

Maybe after it goes bankrupt it can be restructured as something other than a modern day feudal society.
