Finally got up the nerve to install my pyrometer.
Dropped turbo down to keep metal shavings out. Drilled aft side of manifold right before turbo turn down in casting. New gaskets and back together.

Using older Stewart & Warner gage that does not require external electricity and K-type sensor.

Works great with very fast response to throttle changes.

Truck fuel was adjusted pretty lean, took 1 and 1/2 turns of nut to get it where I wanted it.

Now reads 800-850 F at normal cruising speed and climbs to 950-1000 F on hard pull.

Hot idle is 300 F.

Don't really "Feel" a big differance in power but may turn up little more.

Running straight diesel right now but going to 50/50 mix of WMO soon.

I get a charge out of tinkering with this rig!!!!:D
