Intake and exaust manifold off, some questions about putting it back together

I'm fixing to reinstall the intake and exaust manifolds on my truck and was looking for the torque spec on these nuts.... I looked in the TM and it just refer's me to a chart that I don't see the torque value's for nuts on, just the bolts. Mabey i'm reading it wrong? But I haven' been able to find it.

Does anyone think that painting my exaust manifold and exaust side of my turbo would be a bad idea? I repainted the intake, valve covers t-stat housing, slobber tube, and turbo oil drain tube all back OD green. So I was thinking of painting the exaust black.

And lastly I have some type of valve on my oil cooler that the TM doesn't show, looks like a air purge for the coolant side of it. Any one else got one or had to purge the oil cooler after a coolant drain?

Nuts and bolts have general torque values. You should be able to do a google search to find the torque value for any fastener. I doubt it would hurt to paint the exhaust, but i know my exhaust hits 1200 degrees. Good luck finding a paint that will last. Finally, i bet you are talking about the oil sampling port. That is where you pull the oil from to send out a sample to have tested at a lab. Most napa places can do it.

Will do with the google search, I was just hoping that one of the guy's that had the head off thier engines might would remember the torque. Any idea what grade the original studs were? I got new grade 8 crimped lock nuts.

Since the nuts go on bolts, use the torque values for the equivalent bolts.2cents
I'm unsure of the grade studs that were used for the exaust manifold and intake manifold.
The by the chart it shows 70ft/lbs for grade 8 7/16-14 but only 49ft/lbs for a grade 5 so which do you torque it to?

I am getting ready to replace the exhaust manifold gasket and have run into the same problem with torque specs. Did you ever find out an exact number?

I'm fairly sure I ended up torquing it all to the grade 5 spec in the TM. The torque spec chart is in all the TM's. Don't know how to link it but in the first maint. TM it's chapter 1 about the 3rd page, or if you get the side bar on the left side go to tables and it's 1-1. Mine has been back together for about a month now with no issues.

Thanks a bunch! My computer took a dump on me, so opening the TM's isn't an option for me at this point, so I'll go with the grade 5 specs and see what happens!
