I'm a confused on the types of valves used in the L134. I am in the process of rebuilding my M38 and have torn it down and had the block machined. Hardened valve seats are installed. I purchased new valves and the intake appear to be a direct replacement. However, the exhaust valves originally installed appear to be the rotating type. The new ones??
The question is should I use the new valve and get the correct retainers or do I have the wrong valves? I'm hoping someone can explain the whole rotating vs non-rotation valve thing and what is the standard practice when rebuilding.

The valve on the left is the new exhaust and the center is the old exhaust and the far right is the old intake. The new and old intake are the same.
