im wondering if the blocks of the ld-465-1 and the ltd-456-4c are compatable. they are both 140 horse, the only difference i have found so far is that the 456 is a 76" block. just curious. it is in a fire department brush truck, we threw the #2 connecting rod through the block when on a call last week and now just trying to get it back up and running.

The bare blocks are the same. Save yourself a lot of trouble, find a good running engine from somewhere rather than rebuild your broke motor. Your dept shoud be able to draw a engine or complete truck from your state surplus agency.
