Leaking Pinion Seals.

Anyone done the pinion seals before? I got a couple leakers. I see the seals are readily available and cheap. Just wondering how much of a fight that nut/bolt holding the pinion "yolk"? will be once I get the drive shaft out of the way. I'll also check the axle vents before I go tearing anything apart.

And if I can add a suggestion for prolonging pinion seal life as well as wheel seal life, if you haven’t already done so it’s a great time while under the truck to remove the factory axle vent pictured below and thread in a fitting and attach a minimum of 3/8” hose and route it up high. Cheap insurance

Often times the factory vent rubber diaphragms swell (or in some cases shrink) therefor allowing pressure to build up until fluid leaks past the seals, or after running on the road then fording some water the axle will attempt to suck in and pull water by the seals.

I had the vents out last year. I replaced the hub seals before I drove it cross country, but I'm not above pulling and checking them again. I like the raised remote option. Thanks.
