Light Switch Warm

We were hooking up (wireing) the lights on an 18ft trailer I have today when I happened to notice that the deuce light switch was a little warm.

The trailer was hooked up and we had turned the lights on and off a few times.

Is it normal for the switch to get a little warm? It wasn't hot but it was noticeably warm.

It has a resistor for the dash lights built in and that generates some heat. I am assuming you have the 3 lever switch and not the new electronic burn down the truck switch. Of course there in MN, anything above zero is warm.

Ace covered it, contacts don't get warm, the resistor for the dash dimmer function will get warm.
If the circuit breaker is running close to 20 amps, it may get warm also and it's time for the relay mod....
