LMTV AC parts diagram.

I have looked and I can not find any part diagram or list or drawings for the LMTV AC. What I am really looking for is a part diagram of the cab blower/heater/evaporator . I know there are at least 2 styles. Does anybodyhave a lead?

Which unit do you need the diagram for? AC was only officially installed in LSAC, LVAD, and LTAS cabs. And yes some of the ETM's don't have the breakdown of the internal components and there are multiple generations - one cable operated variant and then the stepper motor gen-2 and then a further gen-2.5 (3?) where the wiring changed and sensors were added to include the Red-Dot Pro-Techt diagnostic module.

I am looking to modify my existing cab heater to add an evaporator. I want to see how it has been done. Most likely looking for the 1st gen but I wanted to see the differences. I have an crazy idea of adding a DIY AC to the truck. I just want it to look somewhat stock and not ghetto.

Just put the evap core and expansion valve in front of the recirculation vent inside some sheet metal. Valve off the heater core, and close the fresh air flapper. Toggle switch to turn on the compressor clutch and condenser fans. (wired through a standard trinary switch of course). AC is basic easy stuff.

Yea thats how I am planning mine, evap in front of the recirc port with a drip pan and drain. All inside a vented center console that will make a little better use of that space between the seats…

 

[Reworked LMTV]

The heat index recently has motivated me to finally put my A/C in over the last month. I know others are feeling the heat. There was a RedDOT A/C unit that was on Ebay for a HMMWV kit that appears to drop in to the spot where the OEM unit for about 1200. sits. Now poof! It's gone. Dropping that OEM Gen II unit is a PITA. Very heavy. I bought these twin SPAL fans, thinking they were pullers, but they are actually pushers. Price was right. Flaps are to not needed, might remove. Upper condenser will get covered with something. Unit is mounted to cab with vibration isolators. All custom, used what I had. Got sick of ordering drier brackets that were too small, so made my own. These twin 24 volt fans move a LOT of air. These combined with the oversized condenser should handle the heat. May put a switch one one to turn off if not needed. 2 more A/C hose to attach and run the wires. Now to figure out the trinary switch.
