Anyone down in this neck of the woods want to meet up during the day, maybe head out for a local drive? I've had a few people interested so I figure start a quick thread to see interest level and availability. We could meet in either town and do a local drive, maybe run through Holley Shelter and do some shooting. I would say go out on the beach but that would be a $20/day commitment for permits so I'll leave that on the table.

Thoughts?

You guys figuring like a week out or a month out?

Any thoughts on what you want to do? Just a quick local ride or maybe some dirt action?

My wife loves the beach, she's also fond of talking about all the Sweat Equity she's put into the M882.[thumbzup]

We were down in Wilmington a couple months ago looking at a 36' Grand Banks Classic. Any excuse to head down that way is a good one.

That a GO Boat, or a BLOW Boat?
That would be considered a GO boat.

I personally want nothing to do with any ragboats of any kind, in any way, shape or form. I had an embarrasing experience with one during my tenure at GLMA that pretty much cemented my opinion for life. I now know where Robert Fulton and Olie Evenrude must have gotten the inspiration to do what they went and did!

No excuses needed for looking at boats! A GB is a GO boat...if 8 knots cruise is considered GO :)

Then again mine in its current configuration is a go nowhere boat!

I'm with you, Brother. But we could drift pretty FAR starting right here:

- Somebody (that YOU, Skinny?) needs to start a new thread in the Mess Hall.

I'd be all over it.

I thought I recognized that black Contact Maintenance truck from somewhere!

So, are you still planning on bringing your Mainship down this way?

Nice! Ugly trucks stick out like sore thumbs.

Planning on it in the spring time. Need to make sure work is more secure before I commit to buying lots of diesel fuel.

Where is the Mess Hall and what topic would you like it to be? I'm thinking like pictures of military trucks next to boats???

Mess Hall is one of the Forum categories, under the heading "General":

- Mess Hall is open season; don't need to piggyback with MV's, but your call; have at it!

If any of you head out to Morehead City, I am just down the road, you have to pass me to get there. Stop by, I have been a military vehicle collector since around 1975. I have a several military vehicles here, mainly WWII, to include armor, cannons, and motorcycles. I am building my own museum here also, with displays.
One of the few, Frank USMC RET.

Sounds like you have lots of fun toys. I would be open to stopping by if you are around. I plan on going up to Portsmouth Island in late April with an Expedition Portal planned run. I think you are right along the way.
