As the title said I would like to add grease to the steering knuckles. It is my understanding that there is some way to add grease without pulling the zipper boot open. Truck is out my camp and I would like to add some grease just to be sure. Tearing it apart is not an option at this time. It is working fine and no noises but I have no idea on its prior life and services. I would appreciate any help on how to do this so I can be sure to have the correct tools with me. TIA.

.
Adding grease to the steering knuckles is by way of a Zerk fitting on a block of metal held in place with 4 bolts. Grease fitting is in the middle of that plate on above the boots. Regular grease will make you (your wallet) and your truck happy.

Nice rubber boots will keep the grease inside the knuckles.

Thanks. I thought that was for the king pin and there were some other ports or holes to add grease. Truck is at camp so I cant look.

That one is for the king pin but some of the overflow of grease will make it to the knuckle. For bulk filling remove the Allen head pipe plugs in the front and rear of the knuckle ball about halfway up.
