increase horsepower? Yes. Cheap? No. the most cost effective way to get more ponies is to either add a turbo from a 6.5 engine or swap the engine for a gas motor or larger diesel engine.

If you want to go fast. Sell it and buy a race car. I think CUCV's have plenty of power. What are your plans for the vehicle?

Some have suggested "truning up" the IP a bit.......
HOWEVER with added "power" you get higher EGT's VERY BAD if not monitored.
If your looking for spinning tires and smoky burnouts...... Sorry WRONG trucks.
The CUCV is a VERY strong truck as delivered, you can always "improve" it, but there will always be COSTS the farther you get from the original configuration
Most of these trucks are 25 plus years old!!
You could do a complete Engine, Trans Xfer case and frt & rear diff rebuilds.....
But you would have the same truck, just everything new and shiny.....
