M1008 Rear Differential Hose

I have a 86 m1008 and was looking under it and saw this hose coming out of the rear differential. I don't know if the rest of the hose is missing or if it was never there. If it is all there and nothing is missing, what is the purpose of the hose?

Its just a vent and is attached to the bed floor to keep water out.

I believe that is to move the diff vent higher so the pumpkin doesn't get full of water with minor fording...

It is probably in the TMs somewhere...
