Hi Guys,

I just got a fresh isolated ground alternator from a rebuild shop.

Problem is, it came without a pulley.

So would anyone in the Atlanta area, be kind enough to very briefly
loan me the tools I need to get the nut & pulley off my old alternator,
so I can put it on my new rebuilt one?

I would like to do the work by myself, I just do not have the tools I need for it,
and cannot afford to buy or rent them right now.

Any assistance would be appreciated, I repeat, I would like to do the work myself, I just need the tools. As I do not have them.

Thank you, have a good night,

CJ

Not close enough to loan you any tools but I bet you can go to autozone or some of the other parts stores and get the tools "loaned" to you. They will take your deposit and give you the tools and then bring the tools back and get your deposit back.

Hi Dock,

Thanks for the info., I will look into that.

But I do not have any money for a deposit, but I will ask how much they want,
and go from there.

By the way, does anyone know what size socket I need to get the pulley off?

I do not have an impact wrench, so I would need the right size socket for my wrench.

Thanks, Night,

CJ

You may be able to just take it into the parts house and they will do it for you.

You may be able to do this with an Allen wrench and a crescent wrench.

Why not take it to the place you bought it and have them do it? Seems like that would be the solution to the problem if they did not provide you with a complete correct alternator.

I had a CUCV alternator rebuild 8 months ago and the positive post came off, the shop took care of it at no cost.

Hi guys,

Thanks again for the advice..
I went to advance earlier, and they did it for me.. With an impact wrench.

Then I put it in, and now my truck starts & runs just great, and the volt meter needle
stays right in the middle of the green without flinching, even under load.

Have a good night,

CJ
