M1009 brake light goes out when blinker is on

My brake lights work, and rear blinkers work. But when the left blinker is on and then I step on the brake, both lights go out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Probably the ground in the socket itself. Replacement sockets are inexpensive and easy to replace. Good Luck.

As everyone has said... also another idea... had my front blinker not work (and also have the indicator not work in the truck) but REAR work... wiggled the crap out of the stalk hey its been working... lol

YMMV... I would for sure do as everyone else said and check the ground.

Thank you!

So should I just change both the blinker and brake light bulb sockets? Also, do you know if connecting the socket grounds is in a TM for a reference?

Maybe also check the connector under the rear bumper.
As the others have said, this is usually a ground problem.

Another possible cause is the flasher under the dash in the fuse block. Switch the lower flasher with the upper flasher. If the problem goes away replace the defective flasher or both. Good Luck. Report Back.
