I found a 1986 M1009 with 40XXX miles. The "dealer" says it needs to be jumped and will run for a few minutes before it dies. They claim it is the charging system, and it will need to be towed or trailered. Thoughts please. Is this just as safe a bet as a GL purchase. I know at least if I make the drive to see it in person I can walk from this one. Is there more at risk here than just batteries and alternators? I have discovered that I NEED a M1009. Could this be the one? Thanks.
