Hey all,

A couple of questions/issues. Just got my M1009 up and running. Purrs like an angry kitten and having lots of fun with it while addressing a few issues. First is that it has no rear shocks at all, and the upper brackets are missing and look like they may have been torn off. I am sure I can bolt new replacement brackets in their place and weld if needed for extra strength, just need to locate brackets. Any point in looking for anything other than stock brackets? Any suggestions on brackets?

Next step is to replace badly worn tires, currently 31x10.50. I found some Cooper STT muds 285/75R16 on 16x8 6x5.5 Alloys. If my calcs are correct these should be about 33 inches tall. Will these fit on unlifted truck? Anyone have experience with these tires?

Thanks in advance.

You don't need the upper brackets just get the angle correct drill two holes (one on each side) mount a shock bolt and attach the shocks. Done it many times in the past whe I was working on lift kits for the Blazers.

Look at the -20 TM figure 122 and see how the rh shock mounts. Its tight because of the gas tank but it can be done.
