M1009 Tailgate repairs

Hi All,
New to the post. Just bought a 1986 M1009 and I need to repair the tailgate cracks.
What is the "fix" for this?

Is the crack near the top edges? If it is just a stress crack you should just weld it back. You could also get a new tailgate skin or a new tailgate.
