Just got a m101 that I plan to use around the house, it still has the non directional tires on it and they have many dry rot cracks. My question is what's the cheapest most common tire size for replacment? I've used a tire size calculator but from what I've looked up it doesn't come up with common sizes. Don't want to spend a lot since the tires usually dry rot on my trailers before I wear them down.

Height isn't a big issue on a trailer as you describe. Just about any 16 light truck tire will work. Check the other threads at the bottom of this thread for additional info.

The 255/85R16 is 33" tall. Somewhat close!

unfortunately cheap and the same size do not go hand in hand. Another expense to consider is you will need radial tubes if you buy a modern radial tire as the oe is Biased and the tubes are biased. Only tires out there in a 900x16 are Michelin XL? radials ( real pricey) , superlug bias, and the ndt bias.
As recovery stated, any 16 will work as there is plenty of room but you need to change the tubes and find someone willing to work on them or invest in some tire tools.

I'd just run the existing tires till something blows. It sounds like your just using it for around the house work. If going on the road, I'd change them too.

I think you may be confused as the OP didn't note the version of the M101. Since he mentioned NDT tires, it's probably a M101 (some call it the M101A1) with the 5-lug split rim wheels. The M101A2 will have the Chevy/GM 8-lug wheels and often commercially available tires that may match Suburbans. The M101A3 have 8-lug wheels with HMMWV rims and tires.
