M1010 Red Cross Symbols.

Question on the M1010 Ambulance Red Cross side Symbols. Are they painted directly onto the vehicle or are they individual panels painted with the Red Cross symbol, that are attached to the vehicle?

Most side ones I have seen are painted on a hinged piece of sheet metal that attach to the side. The smaller ones up front on the AC are decals, the rear along with the medical corp logo are just flat slide in sheet metal.
