Finally started the process of mating the shelter to the trailer.
Well actually getting the trailer ready for the shelter.
Removed the bed and power washed the frame.
I will be looking for a new wiring harness and some other parts for the trailer.
Not sure what the tub weighs but its heavy. Removed it solo but will need help moving it?

The bolts look worse than they were. I was surprised that after 63 years they came off quite easy. Of course I have been using PB Blaster every few weeks for 3 months getting ready.

I will be looking for a newer landing leg if anyone has one. Prefer one that has a crank type lift.

Once I get a replacement I will let you know.
I may try and fab something so I can gain room up front.[

Worked on lifting the shelter higher to roll the frame under it. I was almost done when the heavens decided to unload!. No thunder so I kept working. Finished the lift about the time it stopped raining.
Need some fab work to mount the shelter. If any one has done this before I'm open to ideas.

Towed the trailer to a friends to do some welding.
A bit concerned about the unit being top heavy. May look into running 2 tires on each side for more stability.
Going to wait though to make sure its not just because its only held on with DOT straps.

Honestly, the trailer is rated for 1.5 tons. Do you think its COG changed that much that it will tip? I'd be interested to see what it weighs once you get it mounted in place.

Adding more tires may not accomplish what you desire. Max tire inflation might. I'm sure COG changed but not that much. An anti sway bar could be added pretty easily or if you want to lower COG, add a spare or two underneath like rustystud did. 340# hanging under the frame really sucks it down.

It needs some A1/A2 tires to match your tow vehicle! (Not that they would help with the height situation.)

On a serious note, I like the way that sits and looks. I think this project is on the road to greatness.

I know a guy with some 365s(1100r20height) on mrap wheels. You'd just need an adapter to the deuce bolt pattern to get them to mount up.
