Just won a M105A2.

When I pick it up I would like to be as close as I can to level. I will pull it with a GMX 4x4 2500 Duramax.

Anyone have any numbers on trailer pintle height or any special tricks?

Pintle height is 36". When I pulled mine home, my pintle adapter was about 24" high. The trailer pulled great behind my Duramax. You won't even notice that it's behind you.

You can also flip the lunette to gain a few inches. Pipe wrench, hammer, pliers, screwdriver.
Remove cotter pin.
Loosen nut.
Hit dead on end of pintle until it breaks free. (As in toward trailer)
Flip, tighten nut, insert cotter pin.

Even with this mount (same one I use) AND even if you flip the lunette, it will still not sit "level". I even removed the bottom five springs in the pack and it still sits slightly nose down.

Until you connect it to the deuce, then it sits just right. :)

My Duramax GMC tows it just fine, I have no trouble stopping it EMPTY or lightly loaded (trash to the dump) and I can back it fairly easily.

I agree with gimp & reloader frodo 100% . Also availabe at Northern Tool. My recovery was about 200 miles. You can flip the lunette too but I would sugest some grease or oil on the hook up .I have that very reciever adaptor and I twisted mine . a little grease helps.

Does anybody know what size of nut is on the backside of the M105A2 pintle on the trailer so that when I pick my trailer up and go to flip the pintle around I can bring the right size of wrench for it?

Here are the photos of when I towed my new to me M105A2 home to Cape Cod, MA. from Fort Dix, NJ. in an ice and snow storm. No brakes hooked up and used the pintle hook set up that Frodo showed. No problems at all and she towed real nice. Truck really didn't notice it was back there. Good luck with your recovery.

Thanks and thanks for the pictures!

I'm using my Chevy S10 to pull it. I'm not worried cuz I pulled a kitchen trailer 450 miles with it and it pulled nice! My stretch of road doesn't have any mountains though.

Here's a good YouTube video on how to flip the lunette. Skip to about the 4:40 mark and at about the 7:30 mark it brakes free.

He uses a wedge between the nut and the jack which forces the Lunette forward as he spins the nut off then when there's forward pressure on the Lunette he hits it with a hammer which breaks it free.
