Hi All,

Looking for help or some technical know how:

My truck is broken down in Mojave, CA and looking for some expertise:

Background and chain of events to the final failure:

Continuous “No Charge” Idiot light indication since ownership began well over 2 years ago But
batteries always charged and the volt meter on the dash always showing 13.2 or higher on the 12 volt system
and 28 volts or higher on the 24 volt system
Chain of events:

1. Loose battery terminal connection
2. Starter failure in Flagstaff
3. on the drive home tomorrow to Southern Cal from Flagstaff AZ, the “No Charge” light was on the whole time
4. Outside of Barstow CA, the 12 volt gauge started becoming erratic and pegging out
5. ABS light came on
6. Lost water temperature gauge
7. Cooling fan stopped running. (It usually comes on very few minutes as temperature builds)
8. The transmission would kick out of overdrive into 6th and the Check transmission light would come on.
I would pull over and as soon as i stop, the light would go out and transmission would behave normally
This happened several times with increasing frequency
9. As i drover slower at 45 mph, the 12 volt gauge became less erratic and the transmission issue went away.
10. Pulled into the gas station in Mojave. Was prepared for the truck not start up upon shut down.
11. Staged the truck in a proper manner that it can easily be towed if needed.
12. Sure thing, when i turned on the master switch, all lights came on initially for 3 seconds, then completely dead
as if the battery is dead. no lights no life.
13. Put volt meter on each battery. Two of the batteries showed 12.7 volts, and the other two showed 13.1 volts.

Any trouble shooting steps would be much appreciated.

check the 12v and 24v terminals in the power distribution box to see if they are tight and clean? Same on the Polarity box behind/below.. (that general area) of spare tire? check all grounds you can think of? The wire that excites the alternator that Superman speaks of often ..... maybe run a new one of those just to be sure?

Thank you Coachgeo. Where is this power distribution box? The polarity box is under the Chasiss under the spare?
Power Distribution box..... the big fuse box in front of passenger knee's. 12 and 24v contacts are on left side.

Here is some stuff from previous threads I've searched out for you

It actually turned out to be a loose ground wire on the starter. Go figure.

Having said that, the alternator is putting out nice charge and two blinking green lights. However, the no charge light is still on?

I need to trouble shoot this part now.
