m1101 tailgate pin

I'm looking for the pin that holds the tailgate closed. It's a ball lock pin with a hole at the end for a split ring. Does anybody know of a source for these various bits and pieces, other than the manufacturer themselves?

I just go to home depot and get a threaded piece of steel . place a bolt and washer on each end and call it improved.

That pin is a Hartwell MS 1798501025 I just got the info off the 2 pins on my M1101. Google the MS # and get the specs. You DONT want to pay what the manufacturer wants for them. Check ebay, those pins come up often, but make sure they are the right size.

They're 5/8" pins, so I'll just use my hitch pin until I find a better solution.

Not an exact match, but these should work.

McMaster-Carr Part# 94975A848

Just in case anybody needs to replace these pins in the future, the McMaster-Carr ones are nearly identical, and work just fine.
