M35A2 master cyl kit extra part??

Bought a master cylinder kit for my M35A2 from Erik's and seem to have an extra part. The part is a thin round brass shim that is the size of the cylinder bore. At first glance I thought it was a gasket for the filler cap but it's too large and obviously too thin. This part was not in my original cylinder so I don't know if I need to use it or not, or where it would go? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks! Mike

I just figured it out by looking at pics on a post by deuceswild. It goes between the rubber cup and the piston.
