Great website, forgive me if subject was posted before., I couldn't find it.
Recently purchased a '67 M35A2 and all rear axles/sides leaking. Upon removal of bearings and seals I noticed the inner bearing (Timken 3994) and outer bearing (Timken 392) use the same race (Timken 3920). My industrial bearing supplier that he has seen this before, but it is not normal , as they are two different series bearings. Any comments?
Thanks
Randy

Bigger face on the outer bearing. Same as on the front axle. I had thought that it was more area for the jam nut on front and seal /jam nut on the backaxle.
