For the first time, my truck been sitting for almost 4 months, the truck wouldn't start so I bled the fuel system from the final filter and it started right up, I let it idle for about 15 minutes and then turned it off and started it back up, after that I turned it off again and then accidentally and try to start it with shut off level still pulled out, I pushed the shut off level back in and try to start it but nothing, I bled the fuel system again and still nothing. I pulled the cover to the shut off valve and that seems to still be functioning normally, now I'm confused on where to go next

yep sounds like a popped button in the HH.. many of us have been there and the time it takes to fix something that small and simple sucks. .. Before tearing into the HH, there's one check that can be done which follows;

try loosening your injector line nuts a couple turns and loosen any easily-gotten nut on the return line coming from the HH

turn on the ACC switch to let pump run long enough to make sure you're getting fuel to the HH and out the return line

if a good flow of fuel is flowing through the HH, tighten the return line nut and crank engine nmt 30 seconds with shutoff pushed all the way in .. you might have residual leakage from loosening the injector nuts but if there's no obvious pulsed flow of fuel at the injector nuts as you crank it, then indeed it's an issue in the HH and likely the pesky little button

there's plenty of posts here on the site about how to fix it , and having a second pair of hands is helpful for a couple steps

Not saying the following at you but for everyone's benefit who may not know better .. The one key takeaway that the PS magazine covered long ago was to gently ease them back slowly until the engine dies , not pull back any farther than what will make it quit .. yanking the shutoff back is a no-no
