I am the proud new owner of a 1961 M37B1 with a 1978 Dodge 360 ci engine. I really need to add power steering to move the 38.5" tires on the beast and have a few questions. Assuming I use the Saginaw unit from Snake River, what pump and pulley should I run? What bracket should I use? And, do I need to install a flow valve?

Thanks for the reply. Any leads on a bracket and a pump? They have long been separated from my truck. I am in the process of taking the bed off to get everything apart, sandblasted, replacing rusted panels and the bed floor, so it will be a while before I need them. Truck was also using a bed mounted gas tank so I will be on the hunt for a decent tank and brackets too. Thanks, Again Aaron

Pump could be obtained at NAPA, pulley and mounting bracket would have to be found in a salvage yard. Hoses to the gear would have to be made.

Frank do you have the Napa part numbers for the pump and steering box? What is the year range for the bracket and pulley? I have heard 78-85, but don't know if this correct. Thanks, Aaron

Introduction: Well not a MountainEER in any shape or form. Actually a received my Undergraduate from Marshall University. I typically restore Early Ford cars and trucks, saw a M37 had to get one, found one, and started the rebuild. One of my Veteran Buds told me about Steel Soldiers and I have found it to have a wealth of information. I am however a proud West Virginian. The state gets a lot of bad press, but the mountains are beautiful and the four wheeling is great.
