M43 transmission

I am trying to pull a transmission off the engine of my M43 but it doesn't want to move more than an inch or so. Is there something I am missing?

Make sure the throw out bearing is not stuck on the guide sleeve. Stick a small bar up there and make sure it slides & is free. Also the splines on the input shaft might be stuck/frozen in the clutch disc. Use a bar to help it slide free. you might need somebody under there to help it slide out. Sometimes on heavier trucks, the splines of the disc, wear grooves into the input shaft, and it hangs up on the shoulders of the grooves. But usually on lighter stuff, they just rust together, from sitting.

Be careful about prying too much, but sometimes you can put an even pull on the tranny, and get under there & smack the edge of the disc, to break it loose.
