Good afternoon I am inquiring about the feasibility of mounting a CAT 7155 trans behind a 602 Continental gas motor, would like to have more usable gears in the truck instead of the standard five. Don't know if there is a standard bell house pattern or if there has to be an adapter plate made. Understanding the large air requirements of this transmission of course.

thank you for any input.

The 6602 has a standard bell housing, do you plan to replace the flywheel ?, if so what are you going to do about the starter?, how do you plan to mount the torque converter?, what are you going to do for a flex plate? Will the cat 7155 clear the front axle driveshaft? (do not think so), will the 7155 fit in front of the transfer case without moving it ?(do not think so), if you have a front winch, what are you going to do about a pto?

Also remember the 6602 has a MAX. of 2800 rpm, will the 7155 handle that rpm ?
