I talked my Dad into buying this m870 in iowa
2330 - Trailers at Government Liquidation
I am planning on getting it with my m920. I pulled the fifth wheel spacer and ramps off my m920 and put on 16.00R20 tires on it. Does anybody know if my truck will have enough height and clearance set up this way? I will probably have to put some ramps back on (maybe 915a1 ramps) to guide the trailer onto the fifth wheel. I have wireless taillights to put on the back to get home with it...

I think the added ride height of the 16.00's will compensate for the lack of the spacers. The trailer has considerable clearance from the ground when coupled to a stock 920. It goes without saying to make sure you have your 3 1/2 kingpin 5th wheel on. Trailer looks good! Start hoarding the 11.00-15 LPT tires.

You should be fine pulling it home with the truck you've got. You'll have to add the ramps back though to operate the neck.

We use our M870 quite a bit. It will hold a heck of a load. Just make sure you check where the back of the deck connects to the frame that the axles are on. There are some gussets there that trap dirt and such. You see a lot of M870s that are rusted really bad there.

Hey, that is awesome that you got that trailer! I think with GL forklift or bottle jacks you could hook up with no problem.

The 1600s should give you the right height since you took out the spacers. But I would shorten the ramps like I did. Let me see if I can find a picture.
