is there an adjustment for the mechanical breaks they are not holding .the adjuster on the handle is as tight as it can go
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
ok i’ll take a look. i’m assuming i’ll need to first loosen the adjustment on the break handle in the cab then tighten that nut your talking about? sound correct? thanksThere is another adjustment at the parking brake, on the rear of the transfer case. There is a long section of threaded rod on the end of the actuator cable with an adjustment nut.

thank you also would you be able to confirm an oil filter canister gasket item# 153528 as being correct? m931 with NHC 250 cummins thanks!.
Yes
hmm any suggistions on where to start? thanksThe cable is just used for a secondary emergency parking brake drum on the transfer case. Your primary parking brake holding should come from the air system dumping the air out of the brake canisters to the atmostphere (intake stack) It sounds like you have a blockage in your air release line that is not allowing your brake chambers to lock back up
not sure what that is man i have to learn moreMake sure the cage bolts are not installed in the brake cans.

This is what the brake chambers look like when they are caged. Installed cage bolt circled in red.
so this is the main breaksok ill take a look so if that bolt is sticking out what would be the fix
ahh ok so this explains when i use the handbreak in combination with that spring override out it then holdsLooks like your brakes are NOT caged, so I guessed wrong.
You do not use the spring break override, that button should always stay out except in an emergency/combat situation where your spring breaks are locked and you cannot release them otherwise. If you are pushing that button in as normal operation that would explain why your spring brakes are not applying with your parking brake lever.

it must have been in when i use the hand break o man i feel dumb lol ok so keep it out then we see if that handbreak works correct?ahh ok so this explains when i use the handbreak in combination with that spring override out it then holds
