Does anyone know the exact widths of the various axles for the M939 trucks. Specifically I would like to know the width (lug face to lug face) of the M939a2 front axles (with ctis) and the width of the M939a1 rear axles.

I am wondering if a M939a1 rear with the hub flipped track the same as a M939a2 front ? Does anyone know how much width is gained per side when flipping the hub of an M939a1 ? I guess what I want to know is..

1.) what is the width of a m939a2 front axle ?
2.) what is the width of a m939a1 rear axle ?
3.) how much width is gained per side when flipping the hub on a M939a1 ?

Thank you in advance for all your comments

With the air brake setup the hubs can't be flipped on m939/a1/a2, otherwise the brake drum is spaced too far out from the brake shoes and won't make contact.

If using the older 5 ton air assisted hydraulic brakes then yes those hubs can be flipped because the brake drum is attached to the end of the hub, not the wheel studs.

Mine when they were flipped out with the hydraulic brakes, and a pic of how the drum bolts to the hub.

M939/a1 air brakes. Notice how it uses the wheel studs to attach the hub to the drum
