I see the M989 drop center trailers on GL . Has anyone ever got any use out of them? I have a 5 ton to pull with and may build a BBQ smoker in the bed.

How does your trailer handle?? Does it use common parts in the bearings and brakes??

Thanks for any history you can share.

May also have use for my gas engine collection or gristmill with engine hauler,( mill ,corn and engine probably 3-5 ton) trailer is low to ground ,crowd could see mill or engines run. Big does not scare me much with smoker/bbq grill with sinks for cleanup . Combat Q anyone? Deuce trailers too small and army flat general trailers too high. M989 could be pulled in wheels chocked and no jack stands to worry about. I also figure use within 150 miles of home farm. WVU football tailgater??

Sides could be removed or sheeted and folded out with jack stands on ground for bump outs. I think drop center is handy for my stuff which is heavy and once mounted does not have to be unloaded from tailgate because big truck bed height is too high for good display.
