In need of some help, the volunteer fire department i run with has a 1989 M998 and it needs a power steering pump. Does anyone have parts numbers for the pump with reservoir ? Thanks in advanced for the help.

The part numbers are always listed in the Tech Manuals parts catalog TM 9-2320-280-24P-1 and TM 9-2320-280-24P-2

Looking at UOC (Usable on Codes) from the from of the manual a M998 is Code H13.

From diagram #174, Item #5, Part #12339495

Now here is the rub. This part is obsolete so you need to use the PS pump from the A2. Here is a post from the g503.com website.

To quote from PS Magazine #573 page 61:

HMMWV Power Steering Pump
When the power steering pump, NSN 2530-01-168-7876, for basic and A1-series HMMWVs goes bad,
you’ll have to replace it with the pump used on the A2-series vehicles, NSN 2530-01-460-2439.
The old pump is obsolete.
Make a note of the new NSN for Items 5 and 21 in Fig 146 in TM 9-2320-280-24P-1. The part number is RCSK18330.
