M998 with Goodyear MT/R tire pressure tips

Outfitters

New member
1986 M998 4 man soft top. Goodyear MT/R (radials) with the 12 bolt rims and runflat donuts inside. I have assumed the TP 20 and TP 25 stamps on the fenders were meant for the old bias tires.

The -10 TM doesn't list a M998 so I did the chalk test.

35 psi Front and Rear left a nice chalk mark even across all tires.

Chalk test is a waste of time and provides no meaningful information. If it were physically possible to run your tires at 40mph or more with chalk, you would see much different results.

So what is the magic psi to run with a m998 4 man soft top with Goodyear mt/r tires? (And how did you determine that psi was correct?)

I think I've seen 35 mentioned as a recommended minimum. I run my MTRs at 40 front, 45 rear. Ride is just fine. In fact, seemed to handle better than when I ran them at 35.

I run bajas with 35 front / 40 rear. Recommended pressure for some of the newer models.
