I've had this happen a few times now. But when it comes to uploading images, DO NOT UPLOAD WEBARCHIVES FILES.
The security system will read into these files and find PHP code, which will cause your IP to be instantly BANNED.
Unfortunately, while these files are not allowed to be uploaded. The system will accept any file and start the upload to confirm the file type. The security system will see the file before vBulletin has a chance to say "this file type is not allowed". There's no way I can get around this or prevent people from being banned without removing the security system. So you'll need to make sure you don't upload archives. JUST IMAGES.
