Have wanted a M1028 for a long time... will be wanting one for a longer time still.
Picked up an 84 M1009 from private seller ( flipper) who had picked it up from a recent widow.
Shes rust free! Not an easy task up here in the rust belt. She won't see any winter use.
Main goal here is to make the farther away shows & events more affordable to get to.
Best MPG I have is a M880 that gets 12mpg ( it's a freak! all the rest of my M880 series trucks get 10mpg) Which is great compared to the 8 MPG in the ambulance.
Planning to blend in about 25% used motor oil with pump diesel.
had a cop hassle me bringing it home, unfortunately for him I knew more about the laws than he does, or did as I schooled him. Will avoid that town with the CUCV the rest of the year due to his bruised ego.
