Here is an example of what we were talking about on a previous thread - regarding questions that people have and how to respond.

"We" know that IF you have the vehicle in question, that you can find the correct TM number off the data plate (in most cases) and can then download it in .pdf from LOGSA (in many cases) or from the "Resources" at this site.

Stanles is located outside the US, so his access is going to be somewhat limited. His question was what are the manuals for an M35A2, and where could he obtain them. To me that means that he DOES NOT know the manual numbers, so wandering through resources might not be all that helpful.

So, in answer to his question, the manuals would be in the 9-2320-209 series, such as:

LO 9-2320-209-12-1 Lubrication Order
TM 9-2320-209-10-1 Operator's Manual
TM 9-2320-209-10-1-HR Hand Receipt
TM 9-2320-209-10-2 Operator Level Maintenance
TM 9-2320-209-10-3 Operator Level Troubleshooting
TM 9-2320-209-10-4
TM 9-2320-209-20-1 Organizational Maintenance
TM 9-2320-209-20-2-1
TM 9-2320-209-20-2-2
TM 9-2320-209-20-3-1
TM 9-2320-209-20-3-2
TM 9-2320-209-20-3-3
TM 9-2320-209-20-3-4
TM 9-2320-209-20P
TM 9-2320-209-34-1 Direct Support and General Support
TM 9-2320-209-34-2-1
TM 9-2320-209-34-2-2
TM 9-2320-209-34-2-3
TM 9-2320-209-34P

Wouldn't it be handy for new folk to have a sticky with this information at the beginning of each vehicle type listing? Or someplace else that was easy to find, like a link for each manual.

Just a thought to simplify the process and help folk with questions at the same time.

Maybe but for me the search for information is as important. There is an old saying "Give a man a fish and you feed him a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him forever". A simple google search would give the manuals numbers and who knows what other informaton they could find while looking. Just my view. Wayne

There is at the top of the Deuce forum under the FAQ it has a list of all the TM's with a link to each. And a lot of the info that keeps getting ask over and over again. A lot of work goes in to doing stuff like that. And I thank all of you that put in the work to do that. Even if some people can't seem to well I'll stop there.

I just want to add that looking at that list of TMs is pretty intimidating if you don't know what all the numbers stand for. For simplification purposes I send folks to the 361 series as it's only books. TM 9-2320-361-10 is the operators manual. TM 9-2320-361-20 Unit maintenance, TM 9-2320-361-20P Unit parts, TM 9-2320-361-34 Depot maintenance and TM 9-2320-361-34P is depot parts. All 5 are in the TM section and cover nearly every thing in the lengthy 209 series.

EXCELLENT!!

This was a topic awhile ago and I didn't realize that anything had been done about it. Very nice piece of work.

NOW, should the question arise, a SS member "in the know" can simply direct the person to this link with a polite note.

But actually, are there actual bound books I can purchase that has all of the TM's and such in them already? My printer is slow and wouldn't like to print everything out, and I really like a paper copy in my hands when I'm working. If not, I might have to spend some cash at Kinko's.

JATONKA's web site has them. You can also download them to a CD, them take it to Office Max and have them print them out and bind them into a manual pretty cheap.
