MEP-002 - PC (Timing mark) Why can't I see mine?

That is your fuel delivery valve. From what you are seeing...you need to rebuild the pump. You may have gotten it freed up with the carb cleaner, but something inside wasn't free...now it needs rebuilt.

I realize this is a little late to reply, but for the next guy with this problem, the crank may be one revolution off and still be on the PC mark. You may have to remove the pump and turn the crank forward one complete revolution and reinstall the pump. Remember the engine turns two revolutions for every one the pump turns. You have to be on the compression stroke of #1 cylinder when you align the PC mark, not on the exhaust stroke.
