Hey! You are correct. It was late. 005563350 or 005565306 for the Libby. 10 K Ohms. The Kits 013630493 and 015006070 for the Libby. Mr PEAPVP is correct. Recommend being careful on that cage code. The vendor changed many times over the life of the gen. The last ones were just a carbon board and a wiper so current normally was not an issue I suppose the engineers thought. Last ones I got was at a store in Be' er Sheva Israel while on a mission.

Oh the one check was ro measure thru the voltage adjust R1. That puppy is a 10K Ohm POT so you should read around 13K OHMs on that one. Hope the rest helps. If the fuse is OK, it is probably the regulator or a wire issue. The checks will show what is what.

The fuse is good and the pot / VR measure 13.5K CW 3K CCW

I was doing the VR tests in the PDF that LuckeyD posted above and things were not looking swell.
I decided on a hunch to just pull out the VR so I dug into my junk, found some wire number labels and took it out.
I removed the board and this is what I found:

My 40ish years of experience in the electronics industry tells me that this VR has seen better days.

Where do I get a new one?

I found this one: https://greenmountaingenerators.com...1-363-0493-6110-01-384-7192-6110-01-363-0494/

Anyone have any experience with aftermarket VR's?

Thanks for all of the help!

From the armchair here, that VR doesn't look that bad, but Iguess it depends on one's tolerance for repairs. The newer voltage regulators do have a number of advantages.

All the best, 2PbFeet

I agree. No burnt traces so the board is good but absent a schematic it is just more efficient to replace it. Maybe I will repair it as a spare.

Id wonder why those components burnt. Did something else fail and they were just the weakest link?

Ron, aren't these guys the best? Reading your thread, it looks like everyone involved are old farts. Even you and me. Think of the years experience being tapped. Glad you found the issue. Looks repairable to me if you either can't find a replacement or have a stroke from the price. All you need to do is find the tech specs or someone who knows the value of the resistors.
