Just got 3 MEP002As in and starting to check out & service each one for their 1st light-off. I noticed 2 of the 3 units are missing the connector fitting between the 2 supply hoses or the hoses that connect from the secondary filter (or final filter) to the inlet or supply fitting on the injection pump. I noticed the unit that is complete (as far as fuel supply hose assembly) has the bell-housing mounted fitting that connects the two hoses. I was planning to connect a straight double-male JIC fitting to connect the two existing supply hoses. I've searched for this info on this site and did locate that the thread size is 5/16" JIC but couldn't locate or confirm whether the fitting is 37 or 45 degrees JIC.

Can someone please confirm this before I head to our locale NAPA store? Also if I am in error on the thread size, please provide the correct size. Visually, the female threads on the hose swivel fitting appear to the be 3/8", not 5/16"....??

Thanks for any assistance offered.

The hose size is 5/16", but not the thread size. The standard fittings on the end of a -5 hose are 5/8". There is a check valve between the final filter and the IP, not just a connector - I wouldn't run without that. They are 37 degree fittings.

Thanks for the quick reply--glad to learn about the check valve. Assume that keeps the fuel line "full" and prevents drain-back to the tank. Now it seems I need to come up with a replacement for the missing OEM equipment. Looking at the other [fuel lines complete] unit, I believe it's a 90-degree looking fitting, but will take another look tomorrow.

Thanks again for the help--I will definitely locate & install the check valves in the two units where they're missing.
