Ok, I officially have a head ache!!

I've been in the search mode all morning after getting back from JBLM with a newly acquired mep113a (soon to be converted in to a mep104).

I've been looking for a cross reference for the oil and fuel filters.

So far I've come across these part #'s using the nsn #'s and Google. I can find all kinds of information of the mep103, so I'm wondering why I'm having problems with the 104.

Here's what I have so far,

Oil Filter- wix# PC-202P
Fuel filters Primary and Secondary - Baldwin PF902

Do a search, I've posted filter numbers and cross-references several times. You can get them at CarQuest (both oil and fuel filters.)

I have read many of your posts and what I want to know is if the filter information for mep003 filters is the same as mep004's.

AFAIK, the MEP002/003 fuel filters are not the same. The fuel filter on the MEP004 is larger (IIRC) and I suspect the oil filter is different as well. The MEP004/005 and probably the 006 should be the same. :)

Thanks for the clarification. I found a post that was talking about the 004,005, and 006 filter cross reference and it looks like the WIX 51004 oil filter is what I need.

The next thing I have to do is track down this Baldwin PF902 filter and see if that is correct.

Follow up on the filter hunt.

Indeed the WIX 51004 is the correct oil filter for the MEP004 application and the Baldwin filters crossed over to a WIX 33512.

The good news ( if I remember correctly ) is that the Wix 51004 oil filter doesn't come with the right square ring gasket for an 002/003 BUT, the 004, 005 and 006 use a different vertical canister which takes the wider flat 4 1/2" diameter gasket which comes with both Wix 51004 and the Fram CH6PL filters.

Sorry that its sideways, but I expect it to grow, and I did not want to go back and change it right now. I am going to start with the MEP-004A and MEP-005A gen set service parts. I want to make a list of KNOWN GOOD part numbers of service parts. That's why the part numbers are in red. When a couple of you tell me, "Yes, I used that part number to get that part. It fit perfectly. I did not have to do anything to it other then take it out of the box and install it. All gaskits that I needed were in the box also." Then for me, its a good number. Ray70 and 155MM I know have this set, and hope you will jump in. But its good to have more then one person say YES!! Its good. The air filter number Scoobyshep added I know. After almost 30 years of servicing these sets, I remember that one. But still, want to hear from someone else, also. The same with Rays numbers. If you have other manufactures and part numbers not listed, shoot them in.

Also, what else should we have on the list? Fan belts? E-Fuel Pumps Filters? Other parts? When this list looks good, we can do another type of set.

Can confirm the Donaldson 131919 air, the Wix 51004 for oil. Fuel wix 33512 (10 micron) or wix 33540 (6 micron). Just did a service the other day.

Not sure about other people but I usually use the 2 different micron filters.

I'm thinking consumables, so filters and fan belts for sure. Fuel pumps are a judgement call: kind of long lasting equipment but they do fail. Batteries? Thermostat? Or have 2 pages: page 1 "Consumables", page 2 "Other Items".
