Military vehicle lug nut torque specs

Many years late, but I've just seen this now and the M1070 and M1000 data in that PDF is incorrect.

The M1070 and M1000 both have 1-1/2" lug nuts, not 1-3/4", and use the typical 450-550 lb ft torque, not 600-680 lb ft.

The last 3 entries are suspect to me as well.

Think I agree on the M37 specs being off. I set mine at 200 foot pounds for now being a garage queen.

Do thimbles usually get the same torque as their hex nut outers? I've seen my 5 ton thimbles permanently distort when torquing them down and that doesn't seem right.

Myself if the torque specs call for 500 I go 500 on the thimbles and maybe 470 on the outer nut. That way the thimble does not want to come off before the outer nut.
