MK23 Horn button issues

Hello all. Im working on a 5/01 MK23 and need to tear into the horn button. It honks randomly when driving, I assume its wore out. My question, before I tear this apart is if the steering column is shared with any normal truck. I hate to assume its not a special military spec. Any info or advise would be greatly appreciated.
