Picked up a mkt85 because i was tired of cooking for 60-70 people on a coleman roadmate(3 hours to cook enough burgers).
The one i got was missing ALOT of stuff so i decided to modify rather than find orig parts. Here we go... When i got it the canvas was pretty shot. With some help from big mikes motorpool i have the inner canvas but still missing the outers so it will be getting a fold down alum upper section.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414628867.717164.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1414628885.472451.jpg

Next i removed the old canvas and raised to roof to see what all i really had.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414628937.627226.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1414628949.147525.jpg
Of course the rear landing gear was gone so i still have to work that out. The front was missing the struts so tractor supply turnbuckles it was.

We took the hot boxes out to make room for a sink. I will be adding a grey and fresh water tank with a 12v pump soon.

I will be making hand rails after my roof mod. I will also be mounting mounts for my 18 gallon and 7 gallon cast iron stew pots. Also plumb in all the propane into a main trunk that will go to a swing away dual tank holder. I want more cambros and need to find the can opener and a few other odds and ends(roof jacks being my #1 need)

Ah - the memories of camp-outs with Boy Scouts growing up... We never had a kitchen so good, but we could have used one. I recall whipping out the whisper-lites so that we could get enough burners going for a Pancake Cook-out (those are the ones that blow up if you don't start it right :burn: ).

I am still with cubs scouts(weblos 1, wolfe and tigers, my wife and i are den leaders for the tigers and weblos), so I do the cooking. I want all my scouts at this age to have good memories not we had bad food and was cold! I will also be using this for OHV trail maintenance days. I am the go between for the Forrest service and the local clubs at URE in Troy Nc. I love to cook and seems that the guys love me to feed them when they come out and work.

Thanks to suprman we have made some progress! Sweet lights, can opener, cambro and lots of cooking goodies and roof jacks, and the poles for the canvas.
This pics where taken with no flash in pitch black dark tonight!

Mounted a couple of hand rail mounts to hold the cast iron pot holders so they dont slide around on the cat walk.

Got to use this things for the first time. Man i am on cloud 9! Cooking 10 lbs of burger at a time is great! We cooked for about 150 vets today and had a blast.

Snappy,
Back in 2008 we cooked 15 pounds of bacon and 10 dozen (scrambled) eggs in less than a half hour on the GI griddles. I saw Dick Daugird cook 40 steaks at a time on a GI griddle this past March, while visiting Galveston, TX. If you really need to cook a lot of potatoes at a time, you will need to borrow mwmules TFK-250 - each of the two pressure cookers has a rate capacity of 125 liters (about 33 gallons), and the recipe for boiled/baked potatoes says it takes 25 minutes under pressure and they are done. 66 gallons of potatoes is a whole bunch of spuds!
