hi guys,

so i have a cummins question. i pulled a 4bt from an aircraft power unit. i pulled off the pressure pump and gear so i can replace that pump with p7100. however the 7100 shaft is way larger than the hole in the timing gear that was removed. any idea what timing gear i need?

i pulled a 4bt from an aircraft power unit. when i pulled the pressure pump and timing gear from the 4bt to replace with a p7100 pump the shaft on the 7100 is way to big for the timing gear from the original pump. does anyone know what gear i would need to use?

You will need to find a 4 b serial number with a p7100 pump, than you can give that info to cummins to find the part number. I know zoom boom tellahandlers had a p7100 pump, also some bread trucks had them, you might do an ebay search for a 4 b with a p7100 pump and ask the seller for the serial number. good luck also try acd engines I bet Robin would know the part number they specialize in b series engines.

A P7100 does not have a keyway on the shaft it is a tapered shaft. The gear can go anywhere on the shaft. You have to time the fuel pump to the engine with #1 on top dead center. There is a pin in the fuel pump that has to be timed. You are going to need a new front gear case, gear, different fuel lines. If you have the small threaded injectors you will need the large threaded injectors. Got to pull the camshaft out of the engine to change it. You can call my mechanic @ 417-861-7751. He has all the parts you need. He is my 4BT man!!!
