First I have two confessions.....I have never replaced my Primary Fuel Filter and.....no I haven't bought the manuals yet. I asked a friend of mine how he went about changing the filter and he said it was bitch in that he had to remove the alternator to get to it...and then dropped the whole unit down to work on it. At first glance laying on my back looking up....it looks like it should be a lot simpler.....please advise.
Thanks

unscrew the top bolt holding the canister in place and remove the canister from the bottom. no need to touch the gen or anything else. once you've replaced the filter and gasket and torqued to spec turn on the lift pump and bleed the air out and your ready to start. if you want to save some time fill the new filter/canister with diesel before you reinstall.
