I would almost always prefer to buy new or remanufactured stuff, but unfortunately I'm on a lean budget. What I tend to do is buy a local for temporary use- just to keep the truck on the road, and then save up for the new/reman part for the long term. It may seem more expensive, but hey, I gotta get to work somehow.

:arrow:Have the 24 Volt Rebuilt for 100-125.00
Unless your converting the vehicle to 12 volts.
Stick with the 24volt Starter, rebuild it!
They Last a heck of a lot longer and turn over faster.

dsstang97 I would buy the used one for a $100, if you know is working and up to specs. Then if and when is dead you can rebuilt it. Not 100% sure of the part numbers but, there was an early and the more dissarable later model. Good luck either way!
