Hey forum members,
I am trying to update the info and photos on the main SS site to keep it current and growing. I want it to be the most comprehensive site on the net. Please take a moment to look over the site and post any suggestions here. Thanks guys!!

Hey Bob,
Thanks for the quick reply. We could use some more restoration write-ups so if you would like to donate photos and info on your restoration, I'll put it all in the resto section. The same goes for any of you guys who have lots of photos of your resto's.

As for the General Op Fund, it's working OK. Those annoying banner ads on the site keep us out of the red. At the way things are growing, I may have to update our hosting space at some point if we run out of MBs or bandwidth. I'm open to any ideas you may have.

Another thing I would like to pick back up on is the suggestion that a member made about handing out SS flyers at MV shows. The more like-minded folks we can get in here the better we'll be

I've got photos from a M151 resto, a m151A2 resto, a M416 resto from start to finish. I'll get them on disc and can send them snail mail.

Chris!

Have you looked at getting in with the MVPA?

If this fine group could somehow be affiliated with the MVPA, we could pick up an untold number of new members!

Military Vehicles Magazine is also widely distributed to MV owners!

I know that advertising is too expensive, but if someone could write an article about Military Websites, and get it in the magazine, it would provide FREE ADVERTISING!

Chris;
Another idea is to let other members know about other companies across this awesome land about the details that make our machines so cool. Maybe offer them some banner space too? I've tried to promote some I found here in the tri-state (IN-IL-KY) area. They're not like Saturn Surplus, but these guys want to get the word out too! Plus it looks like we may be getting a place for our business in the near future so we can help fellow SteelSoldier and/or MVPA members when they're passing through our area!

Hey, ya know, that brings up a neat idea, what about some kind of a help net type thing? Say someone is passing through in a MV, I've been fortunate when going through Wyoming one year had trouble with the CUCV starting (sub zero temps) and the National Gaurd guys were nice enough to slave start me. But what about places that don't have an armory or something of that nature. I know I'm pretty well equipped to take on just about any job involving an MV if someone is in the area and needs help!

Good ideas guys. Sorry I have been MIA so much. My work is really keeping me off the computer and stressed out. I think the help net idea could work well with the member map. We could put a symbol by those who are willing to help which would link to a page of what services they could offer.

Chris;
Sign me up! When I get my M816 and garage not only can I help, but I'll be able to pull them in from the road and everyone can enjoy A/C in the summer or heat in the winter. Plus with all the other local businesses here willing and able to give support for MVers we're ready for almost anyone!

I think that member map thing is a good idea. I am always willing to help someone passing through Wyoming, if they have a MV problem. Another idea when someone is broke down in their MV, is check with the local rural fire dept's, as all the one's in Wyoming use MV's. We for instance have acres of old vehicles and parts. So if you were in a bind, I believe we could get you a part or two.

Hey all,
I want to get this idea rolling again so I am going to try and work on the map this week some. I'll start adding members again going in order of the highest posters down. If you see your listing and want anything added let me know. I will be linking each member name to their profile so people can contact them.
